Sole Patch opened their second location at 2872 West 47th Avenue, K.C., KS in the Northwood Shopping Center.  The location is just east of Kansas City Joe’s BBQ and Taco Republic.  Mario Smith, one of the most successful cutters at the Sole Patch Corinth location in Prairie Village, was promoted to managing partner of the new Northwood location.

The Northwood location was designed with the ever-present music theme of Sole Patch in mind.  Aluminum concert truss structures were custom designed to create 10 cutting stations.

All services remain the same, as does the Sole Patch dedication to excellence.

The year got started off with the annual contribution of time and services to The American Cancer Society’s “Shave to Save” event.

Sole Patch staff then got jiggy with it and let their freak flags fly.

The year was wrapped up by shutting the shop down and driving staff to join a million other people as they celebrated the Royals 2015 World Series Championship parade.

Sole Patch re-branded it’self in name only this month by dropping the identifier of “Barbershop” and instead going with “Men’s Shop”.

“We feel more confident that the name change better aligns us with what we are about which is a lifestyle company.  It also keeps us from getting overlooked as a modern service provider… you know, unfortunately, the stereotypical idea of a barbershop can kind of be old fashioned.” said Ron Mayer, owner of Sole Patch.

Sole Patch celebrated its 4th year anniversary by hosting a music event in The Guitar Lounge.  Joe McNulty provided entertainment and guests received a gift bag with a leather wallet, Art of Shaving products, and a hand crafted dobb kit.

“Walt” …  the 1971 Chevy C-10 owned by Sole Patch, won the 2011 Turkey Creek Custom Truck Award.  Walt brings a mobile capability to Sole Patch by pulling a trailer with up to three barber chairs.  Haircuts and shaves can then be provided backstage for musical performers, at charity events, and community festivals.

Sole Patch hosted their first men’s trunk show.  Vendors included Mazzarese Jewelry, Envolve Boutique, Riviere Tatters Clothing, Christian Micheal Neckties, Daredevil Boards, and Skinless Art Production.

PalagreenO Records recording artist Nick Pagliari debuted the opening night of The Guitar Lounge at Sole Patch before an invitation only crowd.  Special guest Will Harrison sat in as Nick played the hit song “The Sail” from the movie “P.S. I Love You”.

Sole Patch owner Ron Mayer was the barber/stylist for all male models at the 2008 Rock-n-Fashion show held at Cross Town Station.  The event combined local fashion designers along with rock bands as the models walked the runway.
